John Berlin Cunningham, age 87 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Mountain City Center in Frostburg, MD.
John was born on November 11, 1933 in Onego, WV and was a son of the late Harry Cunningham, Sr. and Ethel (Rohrbaugh)Cunningham.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Artie Mae (Hesse) Cunningham on December 20, 2009; one son, Johnny Cunningham, Jr., two daughters, Patricia A. Bradshaw and an infant daughter, Teresa Lynn Cunningham; two sisters, Hallie Rutledge and Margaret Berg; two brothers, Harry Cunningham, Jr. and Allen Cunningham.
John is survived by one Son, Ronald W. Cunningham and wife Debbie of Petersburg, WV; Four Grandchildren, Matt (Kandra) Cunningham, Derek (Erika) Bradshaw, Nicole (Daniel) Watts and Charity Kimble; Nine Great Grandchildren, Blake Watts, Ben Watts, John Luke Watts, Jadyn Kimble, Bryceson Kimble, Zoey Cunningham, Olivia Cunningham, Derek Bradshaw, Jr. and Landon Bradshaw; half sister, Wanda (Larry) Sites of Petersburg, WV.
John was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 1952. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served as a Military Police. He was a member of Petersburg VFW Post 6454 and American Legion Post 78. He worked at the Petersburg Lowengarte Tannery and later Mount Storm Power Station (VEPCO). After retirement John worked for Grant County Mulch for several years. He was active in community volunteerism in Mt Storm and Petersburg.
