Esther JoAnn Cooper, age 79, of Harman, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.
She was born March 4, 1941 in Cabins, WV and was a daughter of the late Brady Enoch Goldizen and Lula Belle (Ours) Goldizen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Brady Ellis “Butter” Goldizen and Donald William Goldizen.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul E. “Eddie” Cooper; two daughters, Elecca Belle and husband Jeffrey A. Mallow of Winchester, VA and Julie Ann and husband Jon “Clint” Ketterman of Bowden, WV; one son, Douglas Edward and wife Delinda Cooper of Elkins, WV; six grandchildren, Jessica L. Mallow, Tyler A. Mallow, Gage J. Ketterman, Gunnar B. Ketterman, Sarah D. Cooper and Jacob E. Cooper; one sister, Eunice Jean Tadlock and husband Jim of Frederick, MD and several nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 1959. She retired from Randolph County Schools as a cook in Food Service. She was a member of the Riverside Church on Dolly Town road, Cabins, WV.
Family will receive friends Monday, July 20, 2020 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions all individuals entering the funeral home will be required to maintain social distancing and wear a face covering at all times.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy George officiating. Interment will follow in Snyder Family Cemetery, Harman, WV.
