Jimmy N. Hendrix

 Jimmy Nathaniel Hendrix, age 64 of Petersburg, WV passed peacefully in the arms of his wife, Joy, his sister, Stacy and his daughter, Emily on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg.

Jimmy was born on July 9, 1961 in Lockhart, Texas and was a son of the late Billy Nathaniel Hendrix and Ruth Reed (Lawrence) Hendrix. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his niece, Samantha Hendrix.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 33 years,  Josephine “Joy” (Wichael) Hendrix of Petersburg, WV; four daughters, Lindsay (Tim) Kyer of Moorefield, WV, Emily (Jason) Brown of Maysville, WV, Shana Hendrix of Fulks Run, VA and Tiffany Hendrix of Richmond, VA; twelve grandchildren, Tim, Shaun, Josh, Jodi, Bethany, Matthew, Ethan, Ean, Evan, Alissa, Cheyenne and Jeremy; eight great grandchildren, Blaine, Danny, Savanna, Olivia, Teagan, Liliana, Walker and Elijah; two brothers, Ronald (Carol) Hendrix of Cabins, WV and David (Phyllis) Hendrix of Dorcas, WV and one sister, Stacy (Richard) Judy of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was a Christian by faith and a member of the Frosty Hollow Bible Baptist Church. He was employed with his brother Ronald providing Drywall Contract Services for several years which he loved. Also, he was employed with Allegheny Wood, American Woodmark and Walmart and finally ended his career path at Pilgrim's Pride. 

Jimmy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan his entire life. He had a great love for football, pro or college and he enjoyed bowling.  He never met a stranger, was always friendly and appreciative of everything.  Jimmy loved his wife endlessly, and his whole family, especially his little fur baby Comet.

In honoring Jimmy’s wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church, 642 Frosty Hollow Road, Fisher, WV 26818 with Pastor David Hendrix officiating at 5 PM.
