Jeffrey Dale Idleman, age 60 of Maysville, WV passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born in Cumberland, Maryland on May 12, 1964 an was the son of the late Robert Dale Idleman and Angie Lee (Hanlin) Idleman. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lora Sue Idleman
Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by his sister, Mary (Idleman) Simmons and brother-in-law, Garry Simmons of Scherr, WV and a niece, Haley Simmons and nephew, Jacob Simmons and his wife Makala.
Jeff was a proud 1982 graduate of Rossford High School in Rossford, Ohio. After several years Jeff returned to his family’s roots in West Virginia. He found true joy in the simplicity and challenges of rural life. His passion for the outdoors was undeniable. Jeff found solace in the quiet of the woods, the patience of fishing, and the stewardship of the land. These pursuits were not just hobbies but a way of life that he embraced fully, always with respect for nature and its creatures. Jeff was a member of the Brick Covenant Brethren Church of Maysville, WV.
An avid reader, Jeff possessed an insatiable curiosity about the world, particularly the history of World War II. He could often be found engrossed in a book, uncovering the stories of bravery and sacrifice that shaped our world. His love for reading was not just a pastime but a window into understanding the complexities of humanity.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Brick Covenant Brethren Church in Maysville, WV with the Rev. Randy Cosner and Rev. Bob Spaid officiating.
Interment will be private in the Mount Storm Cemetery, Mount Storm, WV.
