Jay Redman, age 65 of Petersburg, WV died on Monday, September 1, 2025 at his home. Jay was born on May 10, 1960 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Richard Roscoe Redman and Celestine Virginia Redman. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by one sister, Loma Jamison.
Jay is survived by two sons, Richard Tobias Redman (Angie) of Weslaco, TX and Micah T. Redman (Kandy) of Cabins, WV; four grandchildren, Jasmine & Hanson (Redman) See- Crites, Kellan Herron, Melodee Stewart, Leah Redman, one great granddaughter, Saige See- Crites; his life partner/companion, Delphia Ketterman Holloway; three brothers, Ricky S. Redman (Debra) of Stanton, VA, Richard R. Redman Jr. of Keyser, WV, Tony “Duck” Redman (Tammy) of Keyser, WV; four sisters, Jacqueline Robinson (J.R.) of Stanton, VA, Penny L. Redman of Keyser, WV, Alisa D. Clifford of Keyser, WV, Vicki V. Reed (Timothy) Beltsville, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jay was a 1978 graduate of Petersburg High School. Throughout his truck driving career, Jay worked with various companies including Mullenax Transport, Chris Alt Trucking, Mowery Trucking, Pilgrim’s Pride, M&M Trucking and retired from RCS Transport. He enjoyed traveling on the road, whether in his big truck, or red truck or riding his motorcycle.
Jay’s family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 6 – 8 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Calvin Redman officiating.
Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 North Main Street, Petersburg, WV 26847 to help defray funeral expenses.
