Janie Sites Obituary
Janie Elizabeth Sites, age 81 of 328 Mernie Ours Road, Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 13, 1934 in Dorcas, WV and was the daughter of the late Charles Monroe Ours and Mernie Elizabeth (Thorne) Ours.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Oscar Ours, Cletus Eston Ours and William Luther Ours.
She was a life member of the Rough Run Church where she was a faithful Sunday School teacher for many years and was secretary and treasurer for over 40 years. She worked in the homes of the late Wanda and Pete Friddle, Johnny Sites and the late Neva Sites and Phyllis Cole and the late Jim Cole for several years.
Janie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Curtis E. "Peanut" Sites; one son, Tony C. Sites and wife Janie of Beverly, WV and one daughter, Betty Puffenbarger and husband Art of Petersburg, WV; four grandchildren, Joseph Sites, Jaret Sites, Waylon Roden and Lesle Sites; four great grandchildren, Shelby Luff, Justin Sites, Bella Sites and Chloe Sites; two sisters, Mernie Kimble and Arvella Zimmerer both of Petersburg, WV and nine brothers, Leon E. Ours, resident of Grant & Rehabilitation Center, Petersburg, WV, Galen J. Ours of Petersburg, WV, Glenn M. Ours, resident of E.A. Hawse Continuous Care, Baker, WV, twins, Bobby L. Ours of Petersburg, WV and Paul R. Ours of Moorefield, WV, Dale C. Ours of Petersburg, WV, Ralph A. Ours of Petersburg, WV, Delmas W. "Jake" Ours of Upper Tract, WV and Olin V. "Ope" Ours of Petersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 6, 2016, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Rough Run Church with Pastor Randy Mongold and Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Ours Family Cemetery, Rough Run, WV.
