Janet Y. Weatherholt

Janet Yvonne Weatherholt, age 83, of Petersburg, WV passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Janet was born July 10, 1938 in Petersburg, WV and was the daughter of the late Otis Seymour Weatherholt and Pauline (Sirbaugh) Weatherholt.  In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by one sister, Treva Helmick and two brothers, Otis “Buzz” Weatherholt and Lester Weatherholt. Janet was the last member of her immediate family.

Janet is survived by two sons, Anthony J. (Lisa) Weatherholt of Petersburg, WV and Andrew J. (Carolyn) Weatherholt of Rio, WV;  two grandsons, Jeremiah Weatherholt and Eric Weatherholt; three great grandchildren, Jacy, Layla and Deagan; and several nieces and nephews.

Janet was a graduate of  Petersburg High School Class of 1958.  She was a teachers aid at Petersburg Elementary School for 30 years. After her retirement Janet was a receptionist at the Schaeffer Funeral Home for several years. She enjoyed playing the piano for various churches in the community.  

Family will receive friends Friday, December 31, 2021 from Noon till 2 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will begin at 2 PM with Pastor Ted Anderson, Pastor Lynn Durbin and Pastor Brad Taylor officiating.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
