James Allen Evans, age 87 of Scherr, WV passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Ruby Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Mr. Evans was born on May 2, 1933 in Laurel Dale, WV and was a son of the late Minor Brooks Evans and Ethel Emily (Feaster) Evans. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Brooks Evans.
James is survived by four sons:
Gerald A. (Brenda) Evans of Naperville, IL (grandchildren – Justin Alan Evans, Cody Alexander Evans)
David L. Evans of Scherr, WV (grandchildren – Luke Allen Evans, Louise Kathryn Evans)
Steven L.(Deanna) Evans of Scherr, WV (grandchildren - Deprise Darlene Evans, Desiree’ Leigh Evans)
Tyler J. Evans of Scherr, WV (grandchildren – Kenley Marie Evans)
One sister: Carol Hammer of Upper Marlboro, MD
Mr. Evans served in the United States Air Force from November 8, 1955 through November 7, 1961. Served at Schilling Air Force Base, Salina Kansas from November 8, 1955 to November 7, 1959 as a Control Tower Specialist. He was transferred to Air Force Reserve on November 7, 1959 through November 7, 1961. Mr. Evans was the founder of Evans Agency. He established the business in 1965 and is still serving the Tri-State area. He was a recipient of several sales awards throughout his 50 years. Mr. Evans was a member of the Oak Dale Church of the Brethren and served as Trustee.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Oak Dale Church of the Brethren, Scherr, WV with Pastor Mike Bernard officiating.
Family will receive friends at the church from Noon till 1 PM.

Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Air Force.
