James D. Dayton

 James Dean “Jim” Dayton, age 80, of Cabins, WV passed away Monday, November 9 , 2020 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV.

  Jim was born January 9, 1940 in Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late Walter Clarence Dayton and Nellie (Dettinburn) Dayton. 

   In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, infant twin, Johnny Dayton and Eldon Dayton; two sisters, Geneva Zirk and Mary Secrist.

   Jim is survived by three sons, Tim Dayton and wife Jenny of Maysville, WV, Stacey Dayton and wife Beth of Petersburg, WV and Trent Dayton and wife Kami of Maysville, WV; ten grandchildren;  eight great grandchildren; one sister, Julia Foley of Arthur, WV and one brother, Robert “Bob” Dayton and wife Margaret of Lahmansville, WV.

   Jim was a truck driver for Dettinburn Trucking for over 50 years. 

   Honoring Jim’s wishes, his body has been cremated.
