James F. Brewster

James Franklin “Tex” Brewster, age 45, of Maysville, WV passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

James was born on February 20, 1980 in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was a son of the late Onvie Michael Brewster and Helen Fay (Nesselrodte) Brewster.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Ruth (Ratcliff) Smith; step-father, Gary Mcconahay; one brother, Ray Brewster and one sister, Tonya Brewster.

James is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kimberly S. (Alfree) Brewster, three sons, Brad Leggett (Megan) of Maysville, WV, Raymond Duffy (Sierra Reynolds) of Lahmansville, WV and Kevin Matthews (April Hutchison) of Harrisonburg, VA; three grandchildren, Rayden Duffy, Caiden Leggett and Alayna Leggett; father-in-law, Raymond R. Duffy of Maysville, WV; Mother-in-law, Brenda Sanders of Parksley, VA; three sisters-in-law, Roseanna Nelson of Parksley, VA and Dawn Hopkins of Parksleys, VA and Lori Brewster of Walbert, TN and brother-in-law, Ronnie Hopkins of Parksleys, VA; uncle Gerald Ratcliff (Elva Jean) of Petersburg, WV and aunt, Janet Nesselrodte of Dallas, TX;  and several nieces and nephews.

James was a partner with Affordable Painting and Drywall Repair, Maysville, WV and former partner with Fresh Catch WV in Moorefield, WV.

James' passion was his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Celebration of life service will be Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Wendell Everett.
