Irene Davis

 Irene Davis, age 84 of Cabins, WV and formerly of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.

 Irene was born on September 2, 1940 in Onego, WV and was a daughter of the late Charles William Davis and Martha Ellen (Long) Davis. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Barkley Kisamore, one brother, George W. Davis and two infant granddaughters, Heather and Heidi Davis.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Karen Merritt (Alvin) of Cabins, WV and Carla Berg (David) of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Danny Lee Davis (Peggy) of Franklin, WV  and Alvin Dean Merritt of Elkins, WV; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great -great grandson; two sisters, Sylvia Mallow of Red Creek, WV and Ruby Teter of Franklin, WV; one brother, Jerry Barkley of Onego, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Irene was employed by a garment factory in Franklin, WV for several years and later was a caregiver for many years. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Family Fellowship. All of Irene’s friends knew her faith was a guiding light to those around her. She enjoyed family gatherings at birthdays and holidays.

Irene’s family will receive friends on Thursday at Cornerstone Family Fellowship, 1516 Lunice Creek Highway, Petersburg, WV from 12 Noon till 2 PM.

Funeral service will begin at 2 PM with Pastor P.J. Landis officiating. Interment will be at a private cemetery.
