Hazel Mae Redman, age 81, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Mrs. Redman was born December 13, 1939 in Wardensville, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Homer Richard Grandison and Mary Elizabeth (Payne) Grandison. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie Grandison, Marion Grandison and Maynard Grandison and an infant sister, Nancy Rose Grandison.
Hazel is survived by her husband of 59 years, Pastor Calvin S. Redman, Sr., one son, Calvin S. Redman, Jr. and wife Tessie of Petersburg, WV and one daughter, Melba Elizabeth Redman Thorne and husband Willard of Hedgesville, WV; two grandchildren, Brooke Jordan Redman and Tiara Elizabeth Redman; one brother, Norman “Bevie” Grandison of Wardensville, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was always helping others in word or deed. Hazel and her husband, Calvin established the church in the early 70’s in Petersburg. She was the Mother of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hazel was a graduate of Wardensville High School.
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ with Pastor Ronald Boyd and Pastor Calvin S. Redman officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 11 AM till time of service at 2 PM.
Please be prepared to adhere to all current health guidelines including face coverings and social distancing at all times.
Interment will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV
