Hazel (Berg) Heavner, age 84, of Maysville, WV passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Grant County Nursing Home.
She was born June 14, 1930 in Jordan Run, WV and was a daughter of the late Walter Samuel Berg and Laura Bell (Barger) Berg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oather Henry Heavner, one daughter, Brenda Heavner Burgess, four brothers, Paul Berg, Austin Berg, Foster Berg and Ebert Berg; and three sisters, Marie Kay, Ollie Rohrbaugh and Velma Goldizen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Hazel was a homemaker and a member of Cabins Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by three sons, Leon and Linda Heavner of Berryville, VA, Elvin and Sharon Heavner and Dwight and Janet Heavner of Maysville, WV; one daughter, Peggy and Raymond Nelson of Maysville, WV; fourteen grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home
Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. (August 18, 2014) at Cabins Assembly of God Church with Rev. Coleman Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Heavner Family Cemetery on Jordan Run Road, Maysville, WV.
