Harold "Pete" Hines

 Harold Joseph “Pete” Hines, age 87 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at his home. Harold was born on August 7, 1935 in Dorcas, WV and was a son of the late Vance William Hines and Ethel Margaret (Vance) Hines.

 In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife Nellie (Mitchell) Hines in 2021 and one sister, Diana “Ann” Hardy; two brothers, Leon Hines and Donald Hines.

 Harold is survived by two brothers, Roger A. Hines of Cobb, GA and  Kenith “Joe” Hines of Petersburg, WV; one sister, Jean Hines Halterman of LeMesa, CA and brother-in-law, Carl Hardy of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

 Harold was a 1954 graduate of Petersburg High School and served in the United States Army. Harold was a member of the Petersburg American Legion Post 78. He was an employee of Allied Egry for 30 years.  He also worked for Adell Polymers and Allegheny Dimensions in Petersburg.  Harold was a member of North Mill Creek Baptist Church and attended Elkhorn Chapel Church.

 Harold’s family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  A Funeral Service will begin at 2 PM with Pastor Glenn Vance Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lahmansville Cemetery.

 Memorials may be made to Elkhorn Chapel Church, 2424 Elkhorn Road, Petersburg, WV 26847.
