Harlin L. Kesner

Harlin Lee Kesner, age 85 of Dorcas, WV passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Harlin was born on May 27,1936, in Dorcas, WV and was a son of the late William Ervin Kesner and Jenny Eunice (Siever) Kesner.  In addition to his parents, Harlin was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Kesner Shoemaker.

Harlin is survived by his wife of 64 years Rosalee Elizabeth (Mauzy) Kesner; three sons, Wendell (Christina) Kesner of Maysville, WV, Kenneth (Sue) Kesner of York, PA and Ricky (Jeanne) Kesner of Petersburg, WV and one daughter, Andra Judy (Rob) of Dorcas, WV; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one brother,  Larry (Carolyn) Kesner of Petersburg, WV; one sister, Beverly (Royce) Plauger of Petersburg, WV  and several nieces and nephews. 

Harlin was a lifelong carpenter and began his career with D. L. Getz Construction. He retired from Lantz Construction Company in Broadway, VA. He was a member of South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren.

Family will receive friends from 5 – 8 PM Thursday, September 16,2021 at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will begin at 1 PM, Friday, September 17,2021 in the Chapel of the  Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Ours and Pastor Dixie Lee Murray officiating.  Burial will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.

Those who wish to remember Harlin in a special way, may make memorials to the Grant County Commission on Aging or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
