Gracie Virginia Moody, age 97 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.

Gracie was born on May 3, 1925 in Riverton, WV and was a daughter of the late Mamie Warner. In addition to her mother, Gracie was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Moody in 2014; grandson, Michael Hottinger; three brothers, Bob Warner, Jimmy Warner and Jack Warner; three sisters, Alice Sennant Cowger, Nellie Warner and Martha Pittsenbarger.   She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 

 Mrs. Moody is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Robert) Evans of Maysville, WV and her three grandchildren, John Cochran, Angie Evans and Keith Evans and granddaughter-in-law, Tammy Hottinger; and seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Moody was custodian for the Newark School Systems in Newark, Ohio. 

 Mrs. Moody will be buried beside her husband in the Wilson Cemetery in Newark, Ohio.
