Gerald "Jerry" A. Brill

Gerald A. “Jerry” Brill age 88 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born on June 1, 1937 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Albert Lovett Brill and Ada Ruth (Rinehart) Brill. 

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Lee (Helmick) Brill in 2015; four sisters, infant Nancy Brill, Mildred “Midge” McDonald, Genevieve Brill and Betty R. Brill; two brothers, James R. Brill and Douglas F. Brill.

Jerry is survived by two sons, David Anthony Brill and wife, Tandi of Raleigh, NC and Bradley Allen Brill of Moorefield, WV and one daughter, Terri Brill Eye and husband Tucker of Petersburg, WV; Thirteen grandchildren, Matthew Sites and Nadine, Breanna Sites and Brandon, Tanner Eye and Channing, Alyssa Davis and Spencer, Jessica Brill, Bailey Brill and Casey, Grant Brill and Mickala, Gracie Brill,  Skylar, Jaxen, Mason, and Haven Ratcliff; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Petersburg High School. He retired in 1976 from the United States Navy.  He was a life member of the Petersburg VFW Post 6454. After his retirement from the Navy, he worked in construction and later the former Mathias Grocery in Petersburg and retired from Valley View Golf Course as Greens Keeper. His passion was golfing and he was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family at the cabin.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV with Pastor Brad Taylor.

Military honors will be given by the Grant County Veterans Honor Guard and United States Navy Honor Guard.
