Garry S. Simmons

Garry Steven Simmons, Sr. age 74 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at his home.

Garry was born on October 9, 1948 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of late Elvern Olin Simmons and Louella Frances (Muntzing) Simmons.  

Garry is survived by his wife Blanche (Crites) Simmons; two sons, Garry S. Simmons, Jr. (Mary) of Scherr, WV and Douglas Simmons of Smoke Hole, WV; two daughters, Sharon Michael (Tyson) of Petersburg, WV and Barbara Feaster of Petersburg, WV; step-daughter, Amanda Schell of Petersburg, WV; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Allen Simmons of Harrisonburg, VA and several nieces and nephews. 

Garry was a 1966 graduate of Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida.  He worked for Adell Polymers for 22 years and retired from the Boilermakers Local 45. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. 

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11 AM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating. Garry’s family will receive friends from 10 till time of service at 11.
