Eulala T. (Shreve) Alt

 Eulala Tressie (Shreve) Alt, age 99 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg.

Eulala was born on July 27, 1926 in Landes, WV and was the daughter of the late Elvin  Theodore “Eb” Shreve and Susan (Stump) Shreve.  In addition to her parents, Eulala was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Edwin Alt in 2006; her daughter, Barbara Susan Alt and her son, Edwin Neal Alt; one brother, Glenville Neal Shreve.

 Eulala is survived by one son, Don S. Alt and wife, Karen of Petersburg, WV; one granddaughter, Jenny Turner, three grandsons, Shawn Alt and wife Trina, Scott Alt and wife Jodie and Steven Alt and wife Jennifer;  nine great grandchildren Quentin Turner, Ameilia Turner, Alyssa Wolfe and husband Tom, Cameron Alt and wife Katie, Dakota Alt and wife Kayla,  Matthew Alt, Hannah Alt, Brynnan Alt and Cara Kirk; six great-great grandchildren, Kennedy Alt, Waylon Alt, Wrenley Alt, Colt Shahan, Cora Wolfe and Madalyn Wolfe; daughter-in-law, Dixie L. Alt; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eulala was a 1944 graduate of Petersburg High School. Her first job was as a cashier at the Petersburg A & P Store. After her marriage she was a lovely homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She always had beautiful flowers. She was a faithful member of Gordon Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer. 

Eulala’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 11 a.m. – 1 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Rita Beeman officiating.

Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg. 

Memorial donations may be made to Charity of the Donor’s choice.
