Ethel (Kisamore) Dickerson

Ethel (Kisamore) Phares Dickerson, age 90 formerly of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg, Virginia.

Ethel was born on April 22, 1932 in Cabins, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late Joel C. Kisamore and Clara Catherine (Dolly) Kisamore.  In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her 1st husband Dawes C. Phares and 2nd husband Charles M. “Sonny” Dickerson; three sons, Daniel C. Phares, Delbert C. Phares and an infant son, Dawes Calvin Phares, Jr., two daughters, Jean E. Phares and an infant daughter, Joan Elaine Phares; two sons-in-law, Gene Lambert and Harold “Hap” Troglia; six sisters, Velma Lyon, Verda Bennett, Vercie Carr, Esther Vernon and Otie Whitaker and infant sister Myrtle Kisamore; three brothers, Burl Kisamore, Marvin Kisamore and Jonas Kisamore.  Ethel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ethel is survived by –

Jayne E. Ramsey (Scott) of Goodview, VA

Joy E. Phares-Troglia of Fort Myers, FL

11 Grandchildren,  25  Great Grandchildren and   2  Great-Great Grandchildren

Numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Landis officiating.  

Family will receive friends from 12 Noon till time of service at 2.

Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
