Addie Estelle (Yochem) Davis Vance, age 94 of Petersburg, WV departed this life and went to her eternal home on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born September 1, 1925 in Clifton, S.C. and was a daughter of the late Andrew Noah Yochem and Mary Eulala (Morgan)Yochem.
In addition to her parents, Estelle was preceded in death by the father of her eight children, James E. Davis, Sr. in 1986; her second husband, Ralph L. Vance, Sr. in 2012; four sons, James E. Davis, Jr., Roger A. Davis, Danny Davis and Douglas W. Davis; and two sisters preceded.
Estelle is survived by her five daughters, Brenda Gragg of Elkins, WV; Judy Baker and husband Bud of Moorefield, Becky Chandler and husband Curt of Harrisonburg, VA, Pamela Landis of Petersburg, WV, Yvonne Black and husband Eugene of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Ralph Vance, Jr. and wife Cornelius of Maysville, WV and Phil Vance of Moorefield, WV; 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Estelle loved her large family and will be missed by family and friends. Estelle worked at the Hermitage Motel and Restaurant in Bartow, WV before moving to Moorefield, WV. She retired from the Joan Curtis Sewing Factory in Petersburg. She was a member of Brake Church of the Brethren in Dorcas.
Estelle's family would like to thank the staff at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center for their excellent care and love that they gave their Mother.
Due to the present health concerns, services and burial will be private. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Brake Church of the Brethren at a later date.
