Emma M. (Hinkle) Runion

Emma Mae (Hinkle) Runion, age 95 of Petersburg, WV passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Western Maryland Health Systems in Cumberland, MD.

Mrs. Runion was born September 3, 1923 in Hardy County, WV and was a daughter of the late Otha M. Hinkle and Carrie (Smith) Hinkle.  In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Runion on June 28, 1984; infant son, James H. Runion, Jr.; three sisters, Carolyn Skinner, Kathryn Alt and Sandra Coby; three brothers, Harold Hinkle, Otha M. Hinkle, Jr., and Lloyd Hinkle

Emma is survived by; one daughter, Bonnie K. Simmons and husband Joe of Petersburg, WV; one son, Dwight “Mike” Runion and wife Jean of Maysville, WV; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren;  one sister, Judy Eye of Harrisonburg, VA; brother-in-law, Earl Alt of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from Noon till 2 PM Thursday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Funeral service will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating and burial will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
