Elmo T. Hesse

Elmo Thomas Hesse, age 79 of Maysville, WV passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his home. 

Elmo was born on February 2, 1944, in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Thomas Hesse and Anna Lee (Alt) Hesse.  In addition to his parents, Elmo was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Anna Bell (Swick) Hesse in 2021; one foster brother, Ralph Fultz.    

Elmo worked for Lee Allen Goldizen Trucking in Lahmansville and T.A. Turner Construction in Gaithersburg, MD. Later he worked for Kessel Lumber Company in Petersburg and R & R Paving in Moorefield and retired from Sites Equipment in 2006. 

Elmo is survived by three sons, Michael Hesse (Miranda) of Maysville, WV, Rodney Swick of Romney, WV, and Tim Foster (Betty) of TX; three Daughters, Tina Cooper (Rusty) of Cabins, WV; Teresa Cosner (Phillip) of Grafton, WV and Stacy Carr (Kevin) of Scherr, WV; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Elmo’s family will receive friends Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 11 AM - l PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Funeral service will begin at 1 PM with the Rev. Vivan Watts officiating.  Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
