Edith Faye (Vance) Chewning

Edith Faye (Vance) Chewning age 90, of Onego, WV passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Grant Memorial Hospital.

Faye was born on April 23, 1931 in Onego, WV and was the daughter of the late John Alonzo Vance and Elsie (Mallow) Vance.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jackson “Jack” Chewning on December 29, 2012; three daughters, Rheba Propst, Betty Hubbard, and an infant daughter, Rose Ellen Chewning; one son, John Paul Hedrick; two grandsons, John Eric Hedrick and Brady Goldizen; two sisters, Opal Berg and Arvella Turner; four brothers, Don Vance, Glen Vance, Guy Vance and Eldon Vance. 

 Faye is survived by:

David A. (Christena) Vance of Elkins, WV

Kenneth J. (Bobbi) Chewning, Jr. of Petersburg, WV

One daughter --

Barbara Porter of Maysville, WV

Fourteen Grandchildren, Seventeen Great Grandchildren and Four Great-Great Grandchildren

One sister:  Violet Kimble of Upper Tract, WV

One brother, Kenneth (Bernice) Vance of Brooklyn, MD

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Revs. Dan and Daniel Ewald officiating.  Family will receive friends from 10 -12 Noon time of Service. 

Burial will be in the Vance Cemetery on Roaring Creek Road, Onego, WV.
