Earl L. Brewer

Earl Lloyd Brewer, age 81 of Petersburg, WV and formerly of Chapel Hill, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at his son's house in Petersburg, WV..

Earl was born on August 10, 1942 in Chapel Hill, NC and was the son of the late PFC Clyde W. Brewer and Dottie (Williams) Brewer. His father was killed in action in France during World War II when Earl was two years old.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by one son, Zachary Brewer; one granddaughter, Saige Baker-Brewer; a half-brother, Tim Ray and a half-sister, Sandra Ray and his step-father, Julian Ray.

Earl is survived by his son, Joshua Adam Brewer; two grandsons, Dylan Gage Brewer and Brady lan Brewer; two half-brothers, Herbert Ray and Donnie Ray and three half-sisters, Carolyn Ray Rigsbee, Deborah Ray Mabe and Linda Ray Keck.

Earl was a 1960 graduate of Chapel Hill High School and attended the University of North Carolina. He worked as a union ironworker for 15 years in Northern Virginia. He returned to Chapel Hill, NC where he owned his landscaping business.

In honoring Earl's wishes, his body will be cremated and services will be private.. Interment will be in Chapel Hill, NC.
