Dorothy M. (VanMeter) Hawk

 Dorothy Marie (VanMeter) Hawk, age 62 of Moorefield, WV passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

 Dorothy was born on November 19, 1961 in Keyser, WV and was a daughter of the late Robert Lee VanMeter and Oleda (Hawk) VanMeter.  In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Heavener.

 Dorothy is survived by two sons, Brian P. Hawk and fiancée Shannon of Maysville, WV and Derek A. Hawk of Mount Storm, WV; one granddaughter, Arianna Lynn; brother-in-law, Gregory Heavener of Lahmansville, WV; one niece, Jacklyn Heavener. Also surviving the father of her children, Cleo Lee Hawk, Jr.

  Dorothy attended Petersburg High School. She was formerly an EMT for Grant County Ambulance and a certified nursing assistant for E.A. Hawse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Dorothy was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. 

  In honoring Dorothy’s wishes her body will be cremated and services will be private.
