Dorothy L. (Alt) Hartman

Dorothy L. (Alt) “Dottie” Hartman, age 80, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV.

Dottie was born July 7, 1942 in Landes, WV and was a daughter of the late Raymond C. Alt and Opal L (Kimble) Alt.

 In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Bobby J. Hartman in 2014; three sisters-in-law, Shelby Turner Alt, Martie Wilson Alt and Anne Crites Alt.  

 Dottie is survived by one son, Michael J. Hartman and wife Lynn of Arthur, WV and one daughter, Stacey Longbon and husband Jon of Mill Creek, WV; four grandchildren, Brandon Hartman, Devon Hartman, Joshua Longbon and wife Kelsey; and Kelsey Longbon; one great grandson, Beckett Longbon; one sister, Pattie Smith and husband Austin “Buddy” Smith of Petersburg, WV; four brothers, Denny Alt and wife Kitty of Beverly, WV, Raymond “Junie”Alt Jr. of Inwood, WV, Doug Alt of Petersburg, WV and Mac Alt and wife Brenda of Petersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Dottie was a graduate of Petersburg High School class of 1960. She was a cook at the Petersburg High School for nearly 30 years. Dottie was a member of the Grant County Association of Retired Employees and was a member of Bethel Church, Petersburg, WV.  She also was active in the Inter-Faith Food Pantry.  

Family will receive friends Monday, August 15, 2022 from 5-7 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. 

Funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 with Pastor Greg Rotruck officiating.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV.
