Donald Lee Kile, age 79 of Middle River, MD and formerly of Landes, WV passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 in Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Mr. Kile was born August 27, 1939 in Landes, WV and was a son of the late George W. and Pearl (VanMeter) Kile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred W. Kile and George W. Kile, Jr.
Mr. Kile is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol L. (Sigler) Kile; four children, Kenneth L. (Dawn) Kile of Gettysburg, PA; Trina K. (Tom) Goldsmith of Kingsville, MD; Michelle S. (Jeff) Francis of Westmister, MD and Craig A (Gilbert Nearhood) Kile of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. (Crystal), Travis (Carrie), Cole (Allyson), Jordan, Dulaney, Brady, and TJ, and two great grandchildren, Carson and Beau; one brother, Vernon R. “Dick” Kile of Belton, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kile retired from General Motors and was a member of the UAW. He was an avid Ford enthusiast and loved drag racing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a center on the 1957 PHS Vikings winning football team. He never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 2 -4 and 7 – 9 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be Thursday, 11:00 AM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann W. Harrison officiating. Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
