Diana (Getz) Clarke

Diana Getz Clarke, age 70 of Culpeper, VA went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2021.

Diana was born in Petersburg, WV on September 27, 1950 and grew up in Scherr, WV. She was a daughter of the late Ralph and Madeline Getz of Scherr.  She married the love of her life 48 years ago, Thomas Peirce Clarke, of Somers, Virginia on January 29, 1973 at Arlington Church of the Brethren in Arlington, Virginia.  Diana and Tom bravely battled with inspiring dignity and grace as she fought a difficult illness over the past seven years.

 In addition to her husband Tom, Diana is survived by a loving sister and brother; Priscilla Getz Evans and her husband Joe of Scherr and Ralph Kimberly Getz and his wife Becky of Scherr.  She also leaves behind three wonderful children, Thomas Casey Clarke and his fiancé Erin of Stephens City, Virginia.  Carey Clarke Lang and her husband Thomas of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Jamie Todd Clarke and his wife Alison of Raleigh, North Carolina.  She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren that she dearly loves, Ashley, Taylor, Kendall, Austin and Mackenzie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she also held near and dear to her heart. 

In lieu of flowers Diana would like Memorial Contributions to be made to Maysville Fire/Rescue, P.O. Box 434, Maysville, WV 26833 or Oakdale Church of the Brethren, 37 Oakdale Road, Scherr, WV 26726.

Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg is in charge of arrangements and a private graveside service for immediate family will be held in Maysville Cemetery.
