Denton Kisamore

Denton Kisamore, age 83, of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at his home. 

Denton was born on October 8, 1939, in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a son of the late Floyd Kisamore and Rosa Pearl (Kimble) Kisamore. 

In addition to his parents, Denton was preceded in death by one brother, Jacob “Buddy” Kisamore; three sisters, Ressie Bible, Rosa Lee Choate and Della “Marie” Carr.

Denton is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eunice (Nelson) Kisamore

One son:  Timothy Kisamore (Lisa) of Seneca Rocks, WV

One daughter:  Connie Kisamore White (Andrew) of Greenfield, IN

Five grandchildren: Ian Kisamore (Ashley) , Adrianna Chapman (Joseph),  Kyle White (Ellen), Lauren Weir (James)   and Tasia Whilden (Blake).

Five great grandchildren,: Amelia Kisamore, Emma Kisamore, Eli Kisamore, Lenna Whilden and Olivia Chapman.

Four sisters: Mae Goldizen of Liberty, WV, Hazel Smith of Corning, NY, Gloria Bennett of Cabins, WV and Rettie Barger (Roger Lee) of Maysville, WV.

Two brothers: Dayton Kisamore of Cabins, WV and Floyd Kisamore Jr. of Louisa, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Denton was a lifelong farmer.  He was a rural mail carrier for Grant and Pendleton Counties for nearly 20 years.  He was a poultry grower for 30 years.  Denton was an avid turkey, bear and deer hunter.  Denton’s passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5 – 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.  Funeral service will be Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Coleman and Coleen Clark officiating.

Interment will follow in Riggleman Cemetery, Cabins, WV
