Dellas T. Hedrick

Dellas Tommy Hedrick, age 84 of Maysville, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV.

Dellas was born on April 17, 1941 in Brood, WV and was a son of the late Lester Hedrick and Joy (Harper) Hedrick.

In addition to his parents, Dellas was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Jack Hedrick. 

Dellas is survived by two daughters, Tammy E. Barger (Blaine) of Maysville, WV; Samantha G. McDonald (Scott) of Strasburg, VA; two sons, Thomas G. Hedrick (Sandy Lee) of Moorefield, WV and Ricky M. Hedrick (Kimberly) of Moorefield, WV; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Vance (Kenneth) Baltimore, MD and Judy Nelson (George) of Westminster, MD; one brother Harman Hedrick (Sandy) of Maysville, WV; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Cindy Berg. 

Dellas was a carpenter in Virginia for several years and moved back to West Virginia and worked in the coal mines. Later Dellas moved back to Virginia and began his business of Hedrick’s Contracting.  After retiring he moved back to his West Virginia home on Ruben Martin Road formerly called Kline’s Gap on Jordan Run Road.  He loved the outdoors enjoyed  hunting, rabbit hunting and fishing. 

Dellas family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 12 Noon till 1 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.

Funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Matt Perrine officiating.

Burial will follow in the Burgess Cemetery Kline’s Gap Maysville, WV.
