David J. Evans

David John “Base” Evans, age 68 of Maysville, WV passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at his home while under the care of hospice.

David was born on September 9, 1954 in Keyser, WV and was a son of the late Leo Evers Evans and Mary Katheryn (Lyon) Evans.  In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a half-sister, Dottie Hinkle. 

David is survived by his fiancée Teresa Harold

Two sons:  Casey Joel Evans and David Shane Evans and a number of grandchildren 

Two half -sisters:  Karen Fisher of Moorefield, WV and Corena Harman of Gettysburg, PA.

Two uncles:  Gene Evans of Maysville, WV and Colon Evans of Rig, WV 

David worked for C. W. Wright Construction in Richmond, VA.  He was a member of Jordan Run Union Church.  David enjoyed the outdoors was an avid hunter and fisherman. 

Visitation/Funeral will be Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.   A funeral service will begin at 7 PM with Pastor Charles “Chaz” Stoner. 

Private Interment will be in the Evans Family Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
