Dannie C. Alt

Dannie Clyde Alt, age 68, of Maysville, WV passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at his home after an extended illness surrounded by his family.  Dannie was born on July 12, 1952 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Shirley (Rohrbaugh) Alt Keplinger and Richard W. Keplinger. 

Dannie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Connie F. (VanMeter) Alt; one son, Jared D. Alt and wife Robyn of Maysville, WV; one sister, Sharon Bobo and husband Roy of Maysville, WV; sister-in-law, Edna Grimm of Broadway, VA; brother-in-law, Ivan Full of Maysville, WV and several nieces and nephews. 

Dannie was a graduate of Petersburg High School class of 1970.  He was an United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany.  He was a coal miner at Laurel Run Mining in Mt Storm, WV and retired from Pilgrim’s Pride in Moorefield, WV after 22 years of service.  He was a member of the Brushy Run Church of God and served as Adult Sunday School teacher for several years.  The past few years Dannie faithfully attended Falls Assembly of God Church in Maysville, WV.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. 

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Falls Assembly of God Church with Pastor Vivan Watts and the Rev. Sam Sponaugle officiating.  Interment will be in Maysville Cemetery with Military Honors by Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454 and West Virginia Army Honor Guard.
