Dale A. Alt, Sr.

Dale Allen Alt, Sr. age 85, formerly of Old Fields, WV passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Hampshire Center in Romney, WV surrounded by his loving family.   

Dale was born on June 10, 1939 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Elvin Pearl "Bus" Alt and Ruth (Kuykendall) Alt.  In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Jean (Myers) Alt in 1997; an infant son, Douglas Keith Alt; a grandson, Jason Price and two daughters, Brenda Lee Vetter and Patricia Ann Adkins.

Dale is survived by one son, Dale Allen Alt, Jr. of Moorefield, WV; seven grandchildren, Veronica Price, Tammy Scaffidi, Joyce Mongold, Dale Alt, III, Angela Vetter, Jacob Alt, and Duane Vetter II; fifteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Dale enjoyed spending time helping family and friends and being outdoors. He greatly  loved to impersonate Elvis, often dressing up and singing any chance he could.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11 AM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Daryl Dunsmore officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

 Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
