Clayton R. Baker, Jr.

 Clayton Russell Baker, Jr., age 86 of Petersburg, WV died Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.

He was born November 13,1934 in Harrisburg, PA and was the son of the late Clayton Russell Baker Sr. and Catherine Alice (Petry) Baker.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay (Gotlob) Baker in 2011.  

 Clayton is survived by one son, Clayton John  Baker (Elizabeth) of Stafford, VA; three daughters, Kathleen Achille (Louis) of Dale City, VA, Deborah  Blatchford (John) of Stafford, VA and Melanie Courtemanche (Michael) of Locust Grove, VA; good friend, Catherine Werstein of Petersburg, WV; his grandchildren, Allison Achille-Kapitan, Laura Taylor, Catherine Tennstedt, Amanda Huff, John Blatchford, Jr., Ashley Campian, Alex and Amber Baker, Peter, Hunter and Tanner Kelson, Keegan Courtemanche and their spouses and his 16 great  grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Vance and Deanna Hess.  

Clayton loved being with his family and friends. He loved traveling, eating hot peppers and all kinds of good food.  He was a talented musician playing many different instruments, but especially loved playing his steel guitar. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Daniel Warntz officiating. Interment will be in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV with Military Honors by the Grant County Veterans Honor Guard and West Virginia Army Honor Guard.
