Charles C. Hinkle, 76, died on November 14, 2020, at the Masonic Home of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He was born on May 24, 1944 in Riverdale, Maryland, the son of Charles Amos and Mary Elizabeth (Davis) Hinkle.
Charles graduated from Petersburg High School, Class of 1962, and Huntington Barber College in Huntington, WV in 1963. Following graduation, he began his career as a Barber/Hairstylist and in Alexandria, VA and owned and operated Engleside Hair Designers for over 45 years before retiring in October 2010. Charles was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Alexandria, VA and a Life Member and Past Master (1999) of Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge No. 219, A.F. & A.M. in Mount Vernon, VA.
In December 2004, Charles married Cathy Judy and in 2018 they moved to Richmond, VA to reside at the Masonic Home of Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 37 years Dottie (Markwood) Hinkle. Surviving in addition to his wife Cathy Hinkle are his daughter, Tamara Sites and her husband, Reggie of Petersburg, WV, sons, Charles Joseph Hinkle, and his wife Angela, of Montgomery, TX, Daniel William Hinkle, and his wife Nanette, of Baton Rouge, LA, six grandchildren, Lindsey Sites, Joseph Hinkle, Madeline Hinkle, Mary Hays Hinkle, Charlotte Hinkle, and Abigail Hinkle.
The family will receive guests for visitation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV, followed by services at 11 a.m.by the Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. A Masonic Graveside service will be conducted by the Petersburg Masonic Lodge No.145 A.F. & A.M. and internment at Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansvile, WV.
