Carol Faye (Cook) Swick, age 73, of Petersburg, WV passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg.
Carol was born on December 15, 1951 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Orville Ezra Cook and Anna Merle (Keplinger) Cook. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas R. Cook, Orville “Brad” Cook and Barry A. “Clyde” Cook and nephew Todd E. Cook.
Carol was a loving mother to three sons, Rodney A. Swick, Casey T. “Hoop” Swick and Cody T. Swick all of Petersburg, WV; one daughter Chandra Faith Alt (Christopher Sherman) of Old Fields, WV; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Carol was also a beloved sister to Barbara J. Clark (Allen) of Maysville, WV, Marlene D. Nelson (Larry) of Cabins, WV, Tonia K. Ray (Mark) of Moorefield, WV, Jodie M. Cook of Petersburg, WV and Holly J. Judy (Jonathan) of Petersburg, WV and three brothers, Ronald E. “Bleach” Cook of Petersburg, WV, Brent E. Cook (Melissa) of Arthur, WV and Mark T. Cook of Cabins, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was a graduate of Petersburg High School and was an Operating Room technician for Grant Memorial Hospital until her illness. Carol’s passion was her family and spending time with them. She was a Christian by faith.
Those who knew Carol will remember her as the epitome of friendliness, thoughtfulness and love. Her smile and her generosity knew no bounds. She had the rare ability to make each person she encountered feel valued and important.
Carol’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen and Barbara Sisson officiating.
Interment will be in the Kline Cemetery, Kline, WV
