Carl W. Dolly

Carl William Dolly, age 70, of Lahmansville, WV passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Carl was born July 20, 1950 in Lahmansville, WV and was a son of the late Guy Jerome Dolly and Bessie (Heavner) Dolly.  In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one son, Dustin J. Dolly; one brother, Sheldon Dolly.

Carl is survived by his wife of  52 years, Phyllis Marie (Ours) Dolly; two sons, William Shane Dolly and wife Teresa of Maysville, WV and Derek Lee Dolly and wife Beth of Gainesville, VA; twelve grandchildren, Sara Lucas, Rebecca Gonzales, Billy Dolly, Katie Dolly, Samantha Dolly, Wyatt Dolly, Anna Dolly, Dalton Dolly, Marshall Dolly, Dustin J. Dolly Jr., Layla Dolly and Weston Dolly; two step grandchildren, Chris Castle and Dakota Castle; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Arvella Sites and husband Roger of Medley, WV and Juanita Lloyd and husband Frank of Petersburg, WV; one brother, Larry Dolly and wife Teresa of Keyser, WV. 

Carl was a successful business building contractor in Virginia.  After closing his business, one of his dreams was fulfilled by buying a farm and moving his family to WV. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  Spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy. He was co-founder along with his wife, Phyllis, of Joy House in Petersburg, WV which has been successful in bringing women to fulfillment.  He was a faithful member of Believer’s Victory Center in Moorefield, WV. His life was led by his strong belief in God.   He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. 

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 2 -4   and 6-8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Please be prepared to adhere to all CDC guidelines wearing face coverings at all times and maintain social distancing.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 12 Noon at the Believer’s Victory Center, 160 Victory Lane, Moorefield, WV 26836 with Dr. Decker Tapscott and Pastor Coleman Clark officiating.  The funeral service will be live streaming.

  Interment will follow in Lahmansville Cemetery.
