Bruce Sites

Bruce Sites, age 81 of Petersburg  WV died Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Cumberland, Maryland.

Bruce was born on July 14, 1941 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a son of the late Curtis D. Sites and Mamie (Vance) Sites.  In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jean “Dottie” (Reel) Sites; two brothers, Richard Sites and Guy Sites.                      

Bruce is survived by one daughter, Amanda Sites Roberson and husband David of Short Gap, WV; one granddaughter, Madalyn Roberson and two step grandchildren, Jordan Roberson and Noah Roberson; one sister, Mary Cunningham of Beverly, WV; three brothers, Earl Sites, Ward Sites, John Wade Sites all of Seneca Rocks, WV; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Bruce retired from Laborers’ International Union of North America Local Union 984 of Clarksburg, WV.  He enjoyed farming with his brothers and was also known for his gardening skills and sharing the fruits of his labor.  His true joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  You could find Bruce daily at Family Traditions in Petersburg which he also considered part of his family.

He was a member of Bakers Chapel United Methodist Church.

Family will receive friends Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 6 – 8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Harold George officiating.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV.
