Braxton B. Runion

Braxton Bradley Runion, age 35 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at his home.

Braxton was born on May 10, 1990 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of Myra (Huffman) Runion of Petersburg, WV and the late Max Lynn Runion, Jr. 

Braxton is survived by his mother, Myra Huffman Runion. sister, Myriah Reinhart (Daren) of Shippenville, PA and one brother Braydon Huffman Runion of Petersburg, WV; half -sister, Trisha Foltz of Florida and a half -brother Aaron Runion of Florida; one nephew, Brayson Runion of Petersburg, WV. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Braxton was a 2009 graduate of Petersburg High School and was the outstanding male athlete in football and track. His passions were family, football, hunting and fishing. He was known as “the Fish Whisperer” to many.  Braxton had a heart of gold and spent numerous hours helping to care for his bedfast grandfather, Don Huffman. 

As a teenager Braxton was a lifeguard at the Petersburg City Pool for four years and achieved his welding certificate and CDL license. After graduation he worked at Huffman Logging, Henkel & McCoy and was currently employed at American Woodmark in Moorefield, WV.

Braxton’s family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating. Interment will be at the Huffman Hillside Cemetery on the beloved family farm in Petersburg, WV.
