Beverly Jean (Kesner) Plauger, age 71 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Keyser Healthcare Center in Keyser, WV.
Beverly was born on May 2, 1954 in Petersburg, WV and was the daughter of the late William Ervin Kesner and Jennie Eunice (Siever) Kesner. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by one sister, Mary (Kesner) Shoemaker and one brother, Harlan Kesner.
Beverly is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Royce E. Plauger; her son, Royce E. Plauger II (Tania) of Keyser, WV who was the pride and joy of her life; two grandchildren, Zachary Plauger and Kayla (Plauger) Tobergte (Eric); one great granddaughter, Bella Tobergte; one brother, Larry Kesner (Carolyn) of Petersburg, WV; sister-in-law, Rosalee Kesner of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Beverly was a 1972 graduate of Petersburg High School. Following her graduation, she worked for VanMeter & VanMeter Attorneys and also Joan Curtis Manufacturing Sewing 0Company for several years. Later she embarked on a fulfilling career at Grant Memorial Hospital and retired after 30 plus years. Her attention to detail and methodical approach to her work were matched only be her friendly demeanor and the thoughtful care she took in every interaction with her colleagues and those she served. Beverly’s role as a wife and mother was paramount, and she approached it with the same selflessness and consideration that she showed in all other aspects of her life. Beverly was a faithful member of the Brake Covenant Brethren Church.
Beverly’s family would like to thank the caring staff at Keyser Healthcare Center and Keyser Davita Dialysis Center for their kind attention and compassion given to Beverly.
Beverly’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 5 – 8 PM at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Howard officiating.
Interment will follow in the Getz Cemetery, Dorcas, WV.
