Alta Yvonne (Kitzmiller) Nesselrodt, age 86, of Petersburg, WV died on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.
Alta was born on February 27, 1936 in Bismarck, WV and was a daughter of the late Alva Kitzmiller and Goldie (Cosner) Kitzmiller. In addition to her parents, Alta was preceded in death by her husband, Bryson Champ and her brother, Raymond E. Kitzmiller; her step granddaughter, Amy Combs.
Alta is survived by one daughter, Vickie (Doug) Lambert of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Randy (Melody) Nesselrodt of Petersburg, WV and Lawrence (Beth) Nesselrodt of South Charleston, WV; four grandchildren, Ryan (Christine) Lambert of Franklin, WV, Derek (Carrie) Nesselrodt of Petersburg, WV, Corey Lambert of Morgantown, WV and Katie (Seth) Neptune of Maysville, WV; one step grandson, Danah (Megan) Mallory; five great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria (Clifton) Judy of Roanoke, VA, Carole (Sonny) Taylor of Petersburg, WV and Sandy Roberts of Sun City, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
Alta graduated from Petersburg High School. She was a member of the Memorial Church of the Brethren and worked as a teachers aide for several years for the Grant County School system.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Cullers officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
