Phillip Kessel Obituary
Phillip Robert Kessel, age 53, of Tampa, Florida and formerly of Petersburg, WV died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at home.
He was born July 16, 1964 in Hyattsville, MD and was a son of the late Frank Robert Kessel and Betty Maxine (Payne) Kessel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Alan Jay Kessel and his aunt, the late Myrtle Sites who raised Phillip.
Phillip graduated from Petersburg High School in 1982. He also graduated from Potomac State College and West Virginia University. He worked over 25 years in professional sports and had the wonderful opportunity to be associated with many world championship events including NBA Finals, MLB World Series, NCAA Championship and the Stanley Cup Final.
Phillip is survived by one brother, Marshall Andrew Kessel of Baltimore, MD; two aunts, Pauline Coleman of Edgewater, MD and Bonnie Eckhardt of Folsom, CA and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.
