Nellie Mae Ours, age 89, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mrs. Ours was born September 14, 1928 in Dumpling Run, WV and was a daughter of the late Jackson Whetzel and Virginia Alice (Mongold) Whetzel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Ours on September 27, 1989; five brothers, John W. Whetzel, Noah H. Whetzel, Jesse Lee Whetzel, Ira Chester Whetzel and Tony Conway Whetzel; five sisters, Maggie Rebecca Kesner, Virginia Nancy Simmons, Viola Whetzel, Hazel Whetzel, Goldie Arlena Sites and Pauline Virginia Nelson
Mrs. Ours was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the Brake Church of the Brethren.
Nellie is survived by two sons, Larry W. Ours and wife Linda of Petersburg, WV; Elmer "Buzz" Ours and wife Christie of Jacksonville, NC; one daughter, Phyllis and husband Glenn Vance Jr. of Petersburg, WV; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Howard officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral services. Burial will follow in the Pine Haven Cemetery, Dorcas, WV
