Harlan Landes Obituary
Harlan Herbert "Spike" Landes, age 86, of Lahmansville, WV went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mr. Landes was born March 4, 1931 in Smoke Hole, WV and was a son of the late Adam Fisher Landes and Rhoda Hazel (Alt) Landes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ivan Landes, Clarence VanMeter and LeRoy VanMeter; two sisters, Eulda Mayle and Hazel Nelson.
Mr. Landes was a retired truck driver for Nesselrodt Trucking in Burlington, WV; He was a member and deacon of Maysville Bible Brethren Church. He was a member of the NRA and loved hunting and fishing.
Harlan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty F. ( Sears) Landes; five daughters, Juanita (Delmas) Mauzy of Dorcas, WV; Bonnie (Bob) Dolly of Lahmansville, WV Peggy Amezquita of Annandale, VA., Joyce (Wayne) Lahman of Petersburg, WV and Betty Lou (George) Mayle of Arthur,WV; one son, Edward Lee (Barbara) Landes of Capon Bridge, WV; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte (Roger) Jenkins of Winchester, VA., half sister, Loretta Malcomb of Marlinton, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 18, 2017, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Raines officiating. Interment will be in the Lahmansvillle Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Charity of the donar's choice.
