H. Streets Obituary
Henry Bruce Streets, 87, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
He was born January 1, 1930 in Elk Garden, WV and was the son of the late Henry Milford and Grace Ellyn (Weist) Streets. .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Streets and Forrest Streets; and two sisters, Margie Streets Kitzmiller and Florence Streets Atkinson.
Mr. Streets graduated from Bayard High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a life member of the Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454.
He retired from General Motors on June 1, 1983 and was a member of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Bismark Road, Mt. Storm, WV.
Mr. Streets is survived by his wife of 62 years, Glenna L. (Hanlin) Streets, one son and daughter-in-law, James D. (Shirley) Streets of Baltimore, MD; two granddaughters, Jessica L. Streets Ziegenhein and Valerie N. Streets; two great granddaughters, Jamie and Jordan Ziegenhein; step great granddaughter, Jessie Ziegenhein. two sisters, Mabel Streets Turner of Antioch, WV and Barbara Streets Hauger of Terra Alta, WV and one brother, Lucky Streets of Reedsville, WV.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. John E. Walker officiating. The Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454 will conduct military honors at the funeral home following the funeral service.
Interment will be on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road, Baltimore, MD 21220.
Following the graveside service, a Celebration of the Life of Bruce Streets, will be held at the home of Diane & Bob Nowakowski, 1661 Hosfeld Drive, Westminster, MD 21157. Any questions you may call (410) 274-8511 or (410) 456-8552.
