Evolena V. Bergdoll

Evolena Virginia Bergdoll, age 94, formerly of Arthur, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV.
Mrs. Bergdoll was born November 2, 1923 in Dumpling Run, WV and was a daughter of the late Noah Whetzel and Lucy (Helmick) Whetzel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claud A. Bergdoll in 2005; Her daughter, Betty Lee Kimble; three great grandchildren, Bobby Lee Shoemaker and infant twins, Ryan and Randy Champ; three sisters, Geraldine Reel, Mondolea Raines and Kathleen Kerr; and one brother, E. Wayne Whetzel. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Bergdoll was a cook at Petersburg High School for several years. She enjoyed working at the Election Polls. She was a member of the Memorial Church of the Brethren in Petersburg.

Evolena is survived by one son, Delmas C. Bergdoll and wife Esther of Petersburg, WV; two granddaughters, Teresa Rohrbaugh and husband Randy of Petersburg, WV and Brenda Lee Champ and husband Roger of Harpers Ferry, WV; two grandsons, Jeremy T. Bergdoll and wife Hope of Petersburg, WV and Kenneth Shoemaker Jr. of Petersburg, WV; six great grandchildren and one step great granddaughter; and five great-great grandchildren; one step great-great granddaughter; one aunt, Nellie Ours of Dorcas, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.

Funeral service will be held on Friday 11 a.m. (January 12, 2018) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Cullers officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.
