Effie L. Hesse

Effie Lula Hesse, age 94, of Maysville, WV departed this life and entered her Heavenly Home on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.

She was born March 29, 1923 in Maysville, WV and was the daughter of the late Edgar Granville Keplinger and Nellie Frances (Barger) Keplinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emmett David Hesse on October 5, 2003; five brothers, Virgil F. Keplinger, Loney M. Keplinger, Sr., Vernon G. Keplinger, Maynard F. Keplinger and infant Emory Forrest Keplinger; two step daughters, Artie M. Cunningham and Lena Wilkins and two step grandchildren. Mrs. Hesse was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Effie was a faithful member of Jordan Run Church of the Brethren where she was the song leader. Her family began a singing group called the Keplinger Family Singers who sang in the community for many years.

Effie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie M. and David Kisamore of Maysville, WV, her granddaughter, Kasey Renee Kisamore; her step daughter, Darlene Turner of Petersburg, WV; two step sons , Lee Allen "Bud" and ( Cathy) Hesse of Manassas, VA and Richard W. Hesse of Moorefield, WV; step son-in-law, John Cunningham of Petersburg, WV, 13 step grandchildren and a number of step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her furry friend, her cat, Shadrach.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 5 -8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. (November 30, 2017) at Jordan Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Charles Stoner and Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating. Interment will be in the Barger Family Cemetery on Jordan Run Road.
