Donnie R. Crites

Donnie Robert Crites, age 76, of Rig, WV died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.


Mr. Crites was born August 23, 1940 in Hardy County, WV and was a son of the late Glenn Conway Crites and Rebecca Madeline (Baldwin) Crites. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Connie Marie Crites; one brother, Norman Glenn Crites; and three nieces.

Donnie retired from Rockingham Poultry and Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield, WV after 42 years of service. He loved hunting and was a member of the Critestown Hunting Club and was a collector of race cars, baseball cards and some stuffed animals. He was a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
He loved his family and friends.

Donnie is survived by seven brothers, Randall and Lana Crites of Rig, WV, Jeff Crites of Rig, WV, Rex and Elneta Crites of Rig, WV, Boyd and Neva Crites of Petersburg, WV, Jerry and Barbara Crites of Moorefield, WV, Rodney and Shawna Crites of Moorefield, WV and Steve and Tena Crites of Moorefield, WV; five sisters, Paula Wolfe of Rig, WV, Mary "Sudie" and Richard Simmons of Rig, WV, Dottie and Andrew Mongold of Rig, WV, Cindy Shoemaker of Petersburg, WV and Lisa and Roscoe Crites of Moorefield, WV; five nephews and ten nieces, nine great nephews and ten great nieces, one great-great nephew and four great-great nieces.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Wade Armentrout officiating. Interment will be in the Critestown Cemetery, Rig, WV.
