William E. Stump

William Edward “Bill” Stump, age 67 of Petersburg, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

Bill was born on May 9, 1952 in Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late Calvin Ray Stump, Sr. and Patricia Catherine (Riggleman) Stump.  In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Stump.

Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda (Kuykendall) Stump; two sons, Brent (Melonie)  Stump,  Bryan (Bethany) Stump  and daughter, Brandy (Mike) Rodgers all of Lahmansville, WV; five grandchildren, Nikki, Cody, Tisha, Ethan and Carson; three great grandchildren, Kameron, Noah and Addy; two sisters, Ranetta Hall of Petersburg, WV and Susie (David)  Lawson of Petersburg, WV; one brother, C. Ray Stump, Jr. of Maysville, WV and special friend, Allen Rexroad. 

Bill served in the United States Army during VietNam War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 78 of Petersburg.   He was employed at Laurel Run Mining and Adell Polymers.  He also was a member of the NRA.  Bill attended Rig Assembly of God Church.

Bill was a loving husband, father and an awesome “Nannaddy” to his grandchildren.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. 

Bill’s family will receive friends Sunday at Rig Assembly of God Church, 10 Queens Drive, Rig, WV 26836 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Rig Assembly of God Church with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating.  Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV with Military Rites by the Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454 and West Virginia Army Honor Guard.
